Ami Stuart has been a competitive athlete most of her life and contributes much of her life success to the attributes cultivated during participation in both team and individual sports endeavors. Both her personal and professional lives are focused on health and wellness. In her career as a member research at the University of Utah where she seeks to improve the wellness of patients through improvements in care and outcomes after surgery.

Additionally, she teaches as an adjunct in the department of Health Promotion and Education. She promotes participation in athletics as a part of a healthy lifestyle and believes that benefits are obtained through both recreational and competitive participation. In my personal

In her personal life, she is married to a skilled and passionate cyclist who introduced her to Fat Bike Racing and understands and supports her addiction to endurance sports.

Prior to finding triathlon and cycling she enjoyed various sports through high school and was a member of the Oregon State University Varsity Rowing team. In road triathlons, she found immediate success and in my first race qualified for the ITU Long Course World Championships as a member of Team USA. Due to

Due to expenses she was unable to race at the second ITU World Championships she qualified for in 2010. After second place finishes at the 2009 and 2010 Halfmax 70.3 National Championship races, she endeavored to race my first Ironman triathlon. I attained that goal in 2011 at Ironman Coeur D’Alene. After IMCDA, my husband and I moved to Salt Lake City, UT. In 2012 I found myself injured with a stress fracture in my femoral neck. Recurrent injuries kept me from significant amounts of racing until 2014 when I felt ready to begin again. Since that time I have participated in XTerra with some success and have found that my favorite racing disciplines are mountain biking, fat biking, and trail running. I won my first national championships in fat biking in 2016. Other highlights for 2016 include a second place age group finish at the USA Cycling Mountain Bike National Championships and an age group win at the Park City Point 2 Point (Park City, UT). In 2017 I won the Pro/Open Fat Bike National Championships and upgraded to pro on the mountain bike. In 2017/18 I intend to race the High Cascades 100 and the Park City Point 2 Point as well as local and regional races on the snow and dirt. I am a sport ambassador in Park City for mountain bike/fat bike brands with the goal to help other women find and feel comfortable in the sport and to promote a fun, adventurous, healthy lifestyle.
